LITTLE GREEN HERONS AT THE SUMMERDALE ALLIGATOR FARM
Their parents romanced, built a nest, had babies, and worked hard to feed them, but now it was time to launch. They didn't really want to go, but their mom kept calling to them from a nearby branch.
One adolescent hopped right out, the second followed, while the third reluctantly took only one step outside. They all quickly returned to the safety of the nest, but now it felt too small. It had been so nice to have food brought right to them. Did they know the dangers lurking outside the nest? Down below, were hundreds of alligators standing in attentive wait for a juicy bird meal. One wrong step could lead to their demise.
Again, their mama called urgently. They must go. It was time.
